Seven years of Djiboutian commitment — humanitarian, education, health, climate. Each project tells a story of concrete solidarity.
February 13, 2026 marked the launch of DJIB-SOLIDEV's largest annual humanitarian operation. Alongside the Amoud Foundation (United Kingdom), the association deployed the « Feed The Fasting » campaign as part of the international 5 Million Meals program — a coordinated effort that served millions of meals to vulnerable Muslim families during the holy month.
In Djibouti, the operation had a particular color. While cities vibrate to the rhythm of Ramadan markets, remote areas remain on the sidelines. That is precisely where DJIB-SOLIDEV teams deployed, in 4×4 convoys loaded with standardized food kits. Each kit contained the essentials of a dignified Iftar: rice bags, premium dates, oil bottles, juice powder, vegetable and meat preserves.
If one had to choose a single image to embody the philosophy of DJIB-SOLIDEV, it would be this one: sixteen women in identical orange dresses, lined up like a wall of color in front of a yellow building, French and Djiboutian flags in hand. The inscription above them sums it all up: « Sissalou Community Electrified Zone ».
PISCCA (Innovative Projects of Civil Societies and Actor Coalitions) is the cooperation instrument of the Embassy of France in Djibouti. For DJIB-SOLIDEV, the project took the form of an integrated community pole: a Local Digital (solar digital workshop), a Reading Corner inaugurated on October 8, 2024 by Rubis Energy and the French Institute, and a craft space where artisans display Afar basketwork, beaded jewelry and traditional pieces.
On June 23, 2025, in the Dikhil Regional Council ceremony hall, under a banner displaying logos of the Embassy of France, the Regional Council, the Dikhil Women's Union and DJIB-SOLIDEV, a new generation of women digital graduates stepped into the light.
The « Digital For Her » project is funded by the France Team Fund — Civil Society Organizations (FEF-OSC). Its promise: « To promote Gender Equality in Digital Professions ». The certificates handed out that day bore the names of Halima Ali Asso, Fatouma Daoud Houmed, Asia Ali Abdoulkader, Atou Oudoun Mohamed, Bivimara Sheila Aaba and many others — each signed by President Habib Mohamed Ebo and the UFD President.
Under the blazing sun of the rocky plains of southern Djibouti, the banner flies above a herd of goats and rams: « Qurbani / Udhiya Distribution — Djibouti 2025 / 1446H ». Eid Mubarak. This is Eid al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice — an essential moment of sharing in the Muslim year.
For DJIB-SOLIDEV and the Amoud Foundation, the operation was deployed in Cheikayto, Kontali, Masguidlou, Ab Youssouf, Sissalou. At the center of the device: standardized green bags containing the portion of packaged fresh meat. The images bear witness to the diversity of beneficiaries — elders, young girls, mothers, young men — each leaving with their green bag and the promise of a dignified meal.
Winter in Djibouti does not evoke snow. And yet, for families in the rural plains, nomadic areas and remote villages, winter nights bite. When the winds sweep through the light shelters, a simple thick blanket becomes a vital object. It is on this need that the Amoud Foundation Winter Program — Djibouti 2025 was born.
The Winter Program 2025 kit goes further than a simple blanket. It also contains YORKOOL G5 LN impregnated mosquito nets (anti-malaria) and dry goods (rice, semolina). It is a complete 3-in-1 winter kit: the blanket protects from cold, the net protects from malaria, the food guarantees a meal.
